For the convenience of Highlander guests, helpful information about your stay with us, and lots of information about Toowoomba is available on all in-room televisions from the main menu.

 
RECEPTION

Reception is open 7:00 am to 8:00 pm Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 6:00 pm Saturday and 8.00am to 12.00pm Sunday & Public Holidays. Please Dial 9 for inquiries or questions during opening hours.

To contact the onsite Manager in the case of an Afterhours Emergency, phone 4638 4955.

CHECKOUT

Checkout time is 10:00am, should you require a later checkout (subject to availability) please contact Reception, extra charges may apply. Early departures please leave your key in the lock on the outside of your room door or in the box outside the office.

BAR AND SUNDRY ITEMS

Beer, Wine, Champagne, Spirit premix drinks, Water, Soft Drinks, Chocolates, Chips, plus a selection of toiletries, washing powder and sundry products are also available for purchase from Reception

BREAKFAST ROOM SERVICE

Cooked & Continental Breakfast is served to your room 7 days a week between 6:30am– 8:30 am. Please make a selection using the Menu provided in your room. Breakfast orders must be in the box outside Reception prior to 8:00 pm the night before delivery (Monday – Saturday) or 6:00pm Sundays, so you don’t miss out.

INTERNET

Secured high speed Wi-Fi is provided free of charge. Search for Wi-Fi, select your room # and enter the Wi-Fi password located on the TV.

ROOM SERVICE DINNER

In-room dining is available 6pm – 8pm Monday – Friday. Please select from the Menu provided in your room. Dial 9 to place your order with Reception. Reception can assist with other places to dine on Saturday and Sunday evenings. (Please note: Room service not available on Public Holidays)

AIR CONDITIONING

To operate the air-conditioning, please ensure that your Room Key Tag is inserted into the slot immediately inside the front door of your room – this engages the electricity for the entire unit. Using the remote control, set the temperature to the desired setting – for cooling (Snowflake symbol), the ideal temperate should be set at 23C. In heating mode (Sun symbol), please allow a few minutes for the unit to reach the desired temperature.

GUEST LAUNDRY

Complimentary Guest Laundry is located next to Apartment 33, near the West Street entrance to the Motel.
There are 2 x Washing Machines & Dryer. Door is locked access is with your room key. Washing powder is available for purchase at Reception.

KEYS – White Tag for Electricity

The white tag on your room key is essential to engage all the electricity in your unit. Insert it into the slot next to the front door. Please note that the door will automatically lock when closed. Please take care of your Room key as a fee of $50.00 will be charged for any key not returned to Reception on departure.

APARTMENTS

Your apartment is equipped with full cooking facilities. As the apartments are designed for long-term stays, we only provide an initial, limited, supply of complimentary items including tea, coffee, sugar, and toilet paper. Additional supplies may be purchased from Reception or local supermarkets. Apartments are serviced weekly or if requested more regularly – for an additional fee. If the dishes are left when you depart, we will presume you are requesting housekeeping to clean the dishes and you will be charged an extra fee of $50.00. For your convenience, an industrial waste bin is located near the Gazebo for the disposal of excess rubbish.
If you require a change of towels please leave your used towels outside your front door prior to 10:00am

BBQ

The Barbecue is located in the pool area for use by guests and their friends. Please contact Reception if you require assistance, utensils, or plastic cups (free of charge). Please be aware NO Glass is permitted in the pool area for safety reasons. Please leave the barbecue in a clean and tidy state for the next guest.

POOL TOWELS

Pool towels are available from Reception free of charge for use in the pool area.

BLANKETS/PILLOWS

Spare blankets and pillows are in the wardrobe in your room. If you require additional blankets or pillows, please contact Reception.

CREDIT CARDS

We accept MasterCard, Visa and American Express as well as having Eftpos capabilities. Please note that payment by American Express will incur a 1.8% surcharge.

CONFERENCE ROOM

Our dedicated Conference and Meeting Room is capable of hosting up to 20 people. It is available for hire, and catering services can be provided. Enquire at Reception for further details or to make a booking.

DRY CLEANING SERVICE

Dry cleaning service is available with same day delivery, Monday – Friday. Items to be laundered must be at Reception prior to 8:30am in order to be returned the same day. (Fees Apply)

ELECTRIC BLANKETS

(During Winter months only)
Electric blankets are on all beds. King & Queen beds have a separate temperature control on each side. Setting 1 is the lowest heat and setting 3 is the hottest.

EMERGENCY PROCEDURES

Please report ALL emergencies to Reception – Dial 9 (during office hours). To contact emergency services directly from your room, dial 0, wait for a dial tone and then dial 000 – please still advise Reception of the emergency. Afterhours Emergency – Contact the onsite Manager – phone 4638 4955.

FAXING/PHOTOCOPYING

Business facilities, such as faxing and photocopying, are available at Reception.

HOSPITALS

Toowoomba Base Hospital is located next to the motel, with the Main Entrance in Pechey Street. A gate leading onto the hospital grounds is located near the stairs past Room 19. This gate is locked at all times. Your Room key is required to open it from both sides. St Andrew’s & St Vincent’s are two private hospitals located in town.

IRONING

An iron and ironing board is provided in your room.

KITCHENETTES

For your convenience we have provided a selection of cutlery and crockery in your motel room; please don’t hesitate to contact Reception if you require any extra items during your stay. If housekeeping have to wash up for you, an extra charge of $20 will apply to your room account.

MEDICAL ASSISTANCE & PHARMACY

Toowoomba Medical and Dental Centre – Phone: 4642 2000, and Chemmart Pharmacy – Phone: 4632 0388 is located across the road, on the other corner of James & West Streets. Open 7am to 10pm, 7 days/week.

PHONE CHARGERS & INTERNATIONAL ELECTRICAL ADAPTORS

We have a selection of phone chargers, and international adaptors for guest use, if you forgot to bring yours.

SMOKING

Smoking is STRICTLY PROHIBITED inside ALL Motel Rooms and Apartments. Ashtrays are provided for your convenience outside all rooms, or in the Gazebo. Rooms smelling of cigarette smoke on departure will incur a $250 minimum charge.

SUPERMARKET

The nearest supermarkets, Coles, Woolworths, are located at Clifford Gardens Shopping Centre, corner James Street and Anzac Avenue, a 12 minute walk from the Motel.

SWIMMING POOL

A salt-water Swimming Pool is located at the front of the motel and is open from 7.00 am to 9.00 pm during the summer months. The Pool is solar heated, partially covered and UV friendly. Parents MUST provide full supervision for children under 15 . There is no diving, running or glass allowed in the pool area.

“Garden City Cabs” can be contacted on 131 008, or arrangements can be made for you at Reception.

Please note that Reception closes at 8.00 pm Monday to Friday (6.00pm Saturday & 12.00noon on Sundays), after which incoming calls CANNOT be transferred to guest rooms.

  • For local calls, simply dial the local number.
  • For STD calls, dial the area code followed by the number

TELEVISION AND MOVIES

Available on your smart television is a selection of local channels and Apps to access your Stan, Foxtel, Netflix or Kayo accounts.

CONDITIONS OF BAILMENT
  1. This establishment shall not be liable to any guest or invitee of a guest for any loss, damage or destruction to any personal property brought onto these premises by this said guest or invitee unless such loss, damage or destruction was the deliberate or negligent act of the proprietor or licensee of these premises, or its authorised agents and employees or the property has been deposited in their safe custody.
  2. Without limiting the forgoing, personal property shall include money, jewellery and other personal effects, and motor vehicles parked on the premises.
  3. When a guest registers at Reception or an invitee of a guest proceeds beyond that point, they shall be deemed to have agreed to be bound by these conditions.
 
RULES OF THE HOUSE
  1. Guest and invitees of guests are expected to behave in a manner which is conducive to the safety, comfort and convenience of other guests within the property.
  2. A breach of any house rule may result in the summary eviction of the offender at the discretion of the manager.
  3. A breach of house rules includes: (i) noisy, offensive and/or unruly behaviour, (ii) damage to or destruction of property; (iii) improper or unseemly conduct; (iv) any act or omission which, in the opinion of the manager, adversely effects or brings discredit upon the manager, owner or other guests; (v) consumption of alcohol in a public place.
